Razer Mamba Wireless - Review
The most recent addition to the Razer Mamba series, despite being on the market for a few months now, it remains without a doubt one of the most balanced and technically well-made mice that you can buy if you are looking for a cordless mouse suitable for the most demanding gamers. .
Born as an evolution of the Razer Mamba Wireless 2018,
currently sold at a much higher price, the new Mamba Wireless loses much of the
" sparkle " of its predecessor in favor of a more minimal design and
an improved technical sheet in some key points.
Inside the package, very compressed and compartmentalized as typical of Razer, we obviously find the mouse ( with the wireless dongle inside ), a USB A / Micro USB cable for charging or wired use and a small adapter for positioning the wireless receiver closest to the mouse using the supplied cable.
In addition to these fundamental elements, we also find a package of multilingual manuals and stickers ( very pleasant ) with a Razer theme that can be applied, for example, on the PC case. appleinfocom
Starting from the packaging of this mouse, we find ourselves
again in front of the classic Razer packaging, a simple and elegant matte black
box with green edges typical of many of the brand's products.
On the front we obviously find the product name, the Razer
logo and a top view of the mouse.
On the back we find another image of the product and some
key features of the mouse such as battery life, sensor resolution and number of
keys present.
We are therefore faced with a simple unboxing experience
that does its duty in returning the idea of a product of excellent quality.
The reason why the Mamba series has always been a favorite
of gamers is easily understandable by seeing its decidedly ergonomic dimensions
and shapes that are well suited to both generously sized hands and the various
most famous grip modes ( claw, palm and fi ngertip ).
• -Material: matte black ABS
• -Weight: 106 g
• -Dimensions: 12.5 x 7 x 4.3 cm
The design of this Razer Mamba abandons, as we had already
mentioned, much of the aesthetic trappings that are present on the predecessor
in favor of a more sober and elegant design that focuses more on substance than
on the “ bling-bling ” effect.
Compared to the past, the two lateral RGB LED bands that
characterized both the wired and wireless versions of the previous Mamba have
disappeared but fortunately the lights placed in the wheel and in the logo on
the palm rest have been preserved.
The reason for this lighting cut is easily understood if you
look at the new Razer Mamba from a full wireless perspective as it was
conceived: fewer lights equals more battery in cordless mode.
Lighting: Razer Mamba Wireless VS Razer Mamba Elite
Despite the loss of numerous lighting e ff ects ( such as the
famous Spectrum Wave ), the mouse has an excellent balance between RGB light
points and elegance that goes well with the Razer design for competition
setups.
Similarly to the past, the additional keys have been kept in
the arrangement with the two dedicated to setting the DPI steps located below
the wheel and the two programmable keys on the left side of the mouse.
Regarding the use of the latter two, there are no complaints
whatsoever, they are well positioned and easily reachable with the thumb and
the feedback given to the pressure is sufficient to make it practical to use
even in more excited gaming sessions.
The layout of the keys remained the same as in the previous
generation
Compared to the previous model, the weight of the mouse has
also improved, which is slimmer by 20g ( from 126g to 106g ) resulting in a
light device but at the same time well placed on the mousepad, a feature that
goes well with various styles of play without showing the side. in any
situation.
Also in comparison with the predecessor, the lateral grips also change, passing from a texture with small hexagons to one with more marked parallel lines which translates into an excellent grip and a firm grip even when you have a little sweaty hands ( especially during l summer ).
As for the ease of use, the Razer Mamba does not contradict
itself and remains one of the most ergonomic mice on the market thanks to its
curved lines that are well suited to the user's hand.
Designed to be a right-handed mouse ( for those looking for
an ambidextrous mouse it is perhaps best to point to the new Razer Lancehead )
its design is designed precisely to accompany the right hand in the ideal
position to obtain minimal joint effort during use.
The large central " hump " perfectly occupies the
hollow of the hand, o ering a comfortable and well balanced palm rest while the
front buttons of the mouse, being wisely inclined "like a waning wave”From
the left side to the right side allow a good control of the mouse without
having to put the fingers in positions“ not consonant ”to the joint health.
